By: K.S. Jayaraman, Bhopal, India

Meteorology and ocean monitoring will be a major focus of India’s satellite program through 2006, according to officials with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

The officials, speaking at the 12th National Space Science Symposium here, said the next four years will see the launch of six Indian weather or environmental satellites. The symposium, organized by ISRO, was held at the Barkatullah University during February 25-28.
